1. The Technical Reality
The foundation of our service is based on standard internet architecture. Your QR codes work through standard web redirects—the exact same technology that powers the entire internet.
They don't depend on proprietary magic or complex, brittle systems; they depend on basic DNS and HTTP redirects that predate any modern SaaS company. This makes migrating your codes technically trivial if it ever became necessary.

Portable Data
Your mapping of QR Code IDs to Destination URLs is a simple CSV export.

Our Explicit Promise:
120-Day Advance Notice
We will never shut down unexpectedly. If we ever have to cease operations, every customer gets at least 120 days' notice by email.
10 Years of Redirects After Shutdown
Your paid codes keep redirecting to their current destinations, and the pages we host for them (PDFs, galleries, menus and more) stay online, for 10 years after the shutdown date, at no cost to you. Printed materials keep working while you update them at your own pace.
Backup & Migration Assistance
We will provide full data exports of all your QR code IDs and their corresponding destination URLs. We will also provide migration assistance to help you map these redirects on any standard web hosting service.
If We're Ever Acquired
We don't plan to sell the company or be acquired. If that ever happens, the buyer must honor every existing paid code on the same terms, and we won't sell to anyone who won't agree to that.
Only You Control Your Codes
We never deactivate a paid code for non-payment or at our discretion — only for abuse, illegal content, or when the law requires it.
99.9% Uptime Target
While we operate, we target 99.9% monthly availability for paid code redirects, served from redundant global infrastructure.
3. The Escrow-Like Reserve Fund
Promises are only as good as the money behind them. Lifetime QR Codes launched in 2024 and is powered by QRTRAC, an Enterprise QR Code Platform. We keep an escrow-like reserve fund that pays for redirect infrastructure. Every year we refill it to cover 11 years of redirect costs in advance, so it always covers at least 10 years, even with zero new income.
Refilled Every Year
Each year we top the reserve back up to 11 years of redirect costs, paid in advance. We only spend from it, so it never drops below 10 years of coverage. We run profitably, with the sole intent of passing that value on to our customers. Subscriptions make sense for some QR use cases, like campaigns you change every week. For codes you print once and rely on for years, they don't, and that's who Lifetime QR Codes is for.
Operationally Segregated
The reserve is held separately from operating money and is used only for redirect infrastructure: server hosting, DNS and domain fees, and CDN bandwidth.

Full service continues
All QR codes keep redirecting and remain editable. Support remains available. Customer data exports are refreshed weekly.

After the shutdown date, the reserve keeps every paid code redirecting and every hosted page online for 10 years, so you can update printed materials at your own pace.
