Track where your QR codes are scanned and view detailed location data, including city, state, country, postcode, latitude, and longitude.
GPS Tracking allows you to capture precise geographic scan locations from visitors who scan your dynamic QR codes. When enabled, scanners are prompted to share their device location, helping you track regional campaign performance and view scan activity on an interactive map.
Before You Start
- GPS Tracking is available for Dynamic QR Codes.
- The scanner needs to allow location access for precise GPS information.
- If location permission is denied, the scan can still continue and may use approximate IP-based location.
Step 1: Open or Create a QR Code
- Log in to your Lifetime QR Codes dashboard.
- To use an existing QR code, go to Dynamic QR Codes and click Edit.
- To create a new QR code, click the Create QR Code button.
- Choose the QR code type you want to configure.
Step 2: Open Advanced Settings
- In the QR code editor, go to the Configure step.
- Scroll down to Advanced Settings.
- Locate the GPS Tracking option.
Step 3: Enable GPS Tracking
- Turn the GPS Tracking toggle ON.
- When someone scans the QR code, their browser or device may ask for location permission.
- Precise location information depends on the scanner allowing location access.
- Save or finish the QR code setup to apply the GPS Tracking setting.

Step 4: View Scan Data
- Click Scan Data under the Data section in the left sidebar.
- Find the scans for your QR code.
- Review the available scan and location information for each scan.
Step 5: Export Scan Data
- From the Scan Data page, use the available Excel or CSV export option.
- Download the report to review the scan and location details outside the dashboard.

- Test the QR code after enabling GPS Tracking.
- Allow location access when testing.
- Use the Scan Map in Analytics to review available location data.
