Overview
GPS tracking allows you to see exactly where your QR codes are being scanned. When enabled, the user will be prompted to share their location when they scan the QR code. This data is then aggregated and displayed in your analytics dashboard.
How to Enable GPS Tracking
- Go to My QR Codes and select the QR code you want to track.
- Click on Advanced Settings in the editor or management view.
- Locate the GPS Tracking toggle and turn it on.
- Save your changes.
User Experience
When a user scans a QR code with GPS tracking enabled:
- They will see a browser prompt asking for permission to access their location.
- If they Allow, their precise coordinates are recorded.
- If they Block or ignore, we still record general location data (city/country) based on their IP address.
Viewing the Data
You can view the captured GPS data in the Analytics section of your dashboard. The Scan Map will show pins for each scan location, allowing you to identify geographic hotspots for your campaign.
