What Are Stores?

Stores are a way to represent physical locations or branches within your Lifetime QR Codes account. If your business operates across multiple sites — restaurants, retail outlets, clinics, event venues, or any other physical presence — you can create a store entry for each location and then assign relevant QR codes to it.

This is different from folders, which are an organizational tool for grouping codes logically. Stores are specifically tied to real-world locations and unlock location-level analytics filtering, making it easy to compare scan performance between your London flagship and your Manchester branch, for example.

Creating a Store

  1. In the left sidebar, click My Stores.
  2. Click Add Store in the top-right corner.
  3. Fill in the store details:
    • Store Name: A recognizable name, e.g., "Downtown Branch" or "Outlet #3".
    • Address: The physical street address of the location.
    • Store Code: An optional internal reference code that matches your own system (e.g., "NYC-001").
    • Notes: Any internal notes about this location.
  4. Click Save Store. The store now appears in your stores list and is available to assign to QR codes.

You can create an unlimited number of stores regardless of your plan.

Assigning QR Codes to a Store

A QR code can be assigned to one store at a time. You can assign codes either at creation time or by editing an existing code:

  • At creation: When creating a new QR code, look for the Storedropdown in the code settings and select the appropriate location.
  • On an existing code: Open the QR code from your dashboard, clickEdit, scroll to the Store field, select the location, and save.
  • In bulk: Select multiple QR codes from the dashboard list, clickBulk Actions, and choose Assign to Store.

Filtering Analytics by Store

Once your codes are assigned to stores, the analytics dashboard gains a powerful location filter:

  1. Navigate to Analytics in the sidebar.
  2. Click the Filter by Store dropdown.
  3. Select one or more stores to view scans only from those locations.
  4. All charts — scan volume, device breakdown, time-of-day heatmap — will update to reflect only the selected stores.

You can also export a CSV report filtered to a specific store for use in spreadsheets or internal reporting tools.

Use Cases

  • Multi-location restaurant chains: Assign table tent QR codes to the store where they are physically placed. Compare which branches receive the most menu scans and at what times, then use that data to optimize staffing or promotions.
  • Retail chains: Track how in-store product QR codes perform across different outlets. A code on a product display in your flagship store may scan far more often than the same code in a smaller location — stores analytics helps you see this clearly.
  • Healthcare or clinic networks: Assign patient-facing information QR codes to specific clinics. Understand which locations have high engagement with digital resources and which may need additional support.
  • Event venues: Create a store per event or per venue area (e.g., "Main Stage", "VIP Lounge") and track scan hotspots throughout your event.
